Need Gum Gone? Chewing gum removal is a very sticky situation, whether it’s stuck on your concrete, parking lot or on the side of a building, chewing gum eventually turns into a black smudge on your concrete. But before then, pedestrians and clients walking into a store or office will step on it and get it in all over the carpets, rugs and mats. Then it’s embedded deep into the carpet and into the porous surface of concrete or asphalt, just waiting for someone to step in it again, to carry it somewhere else.
We are proud to offer gum removal as one of our commercial pressure washing services in Garland TX. Find more information on our process below:
The best methods of removing chewing gum from concrete usually depends on the gum’s age and level of penetration into the concrete surface. If the gum was left recently and it hasn’t penetrated the surface, we are sometimes able to remove it by covering it with ice until it freezes, then scraping the gum off with a metal putty knife.
The ice forces the chewing gum to freeze into a more forgiving consistency compared to a warm and stringy glob. Once that happens, we slide a metal putty knife or scraper directly under the gum. After that we slide the scraper slowly beneath the gum and the whole piece should then peel right off of the concrete.
The above process is only possible with brand new gum.
When we remove chewing gum that has turned black, or is smashed down into the concrete, we use a hot water power washer with the heat dialed up to 200 Degrees in order to melt the chewing gum. For this type of gum removal service, we don’t use very high pressure because that might ruin the surface of the concrete!
Our team never uses more pressure than needed to safely clean commercial concrete surfaces. These surfaces can be damaged a lot easier than most people think, especially if they’re only a couple of years old. Concrete can require up to 100 years to cure completely. That is why we always use hot water and the least amount of pressure possible for our professional chewing gum removal service.
To remove chewing gum from concrete and other commercial surfaces we use custom designed hot water pressure washing tools and powerful soaps that enable us to clean the surface without leading to any damages.
Using special 200 degree hot water power washers and low pressure, we can safely remove chewing gum and dirt all while protecting the surface. Our method will also eliminate bacteria and viruses that can be found in gum.
By hiring Garland Pressure Washing for regular maintenance cleaning at your location, your property will have better curb appeal and all chewing gum removal issues will be over!
